October News

Please see below for some school news for October :

School Donation:
Thank you to Mr David Myles and Mr Ivan Diver who have kindly donated €475 to our school funds. This is not the first time that we have received a donation from David & Ivan and it is much appreciated that they continue to think of our school.

Harvest Performance:
A huge well done to the boys and girls who sang so beautifully at Harvest Thanksgiving on Friday 4th October in St.Anne’s. A particular well done to the Junior Infants who have only been in school a month and were able to remember all their words in front of such a huge crowd. As always, we are very thankful to Niamh Currid for her help in preparing the children.

Childline Cheerios Breakfast Together Morning:

We have been supporting this initiative for the past four years now and we just love having our breakfast in school – it is even better to think that we are helping boys and girls all over Ireland who need and rely on important services like Childline. Please remember to bring your bowl, spoon, mug and a donation on Friday 11th October. Photographs will follow.

Clothing Collection
Thank you to the parents who have kindly brought in lots of bags for our clothing Collection – There still is some time for a last minute clear out!! The bags will be collected on Tuesday 15th October – The school receives 6 Euro for each 10kg bag received and 4 Euro for any mobile phones!!

Halloween Party and Mid-Term:
We will have our fancy dress party and will be closing for the Mid-Term Break on Friday 25th October.

*Some Further Dates*

*Saturday 9th November – Quiz for all the family in Ballintra. (Our school received 1,250 from this event last year as a donation, which is a massive amount and has helped the school carry out repairs such as the school path over the summer – we really would like to see some school support where possible on the night)

* Sunday 10th November – Closing Ceremony of the Allingham Arts Festival – Children have been asked to perform.
